How Often Should I Vacuum?

Most of us have multiple floors and surfaces that need to be cleaned. And it's not just our carpets or hard floors - some surfaces can go neglected by being out of reach or not thought of when we break out the vacuum. So how often should you be vacuuming your home?

Well, that depends on a lot of things.

Do you have pets? Do you have allergies? Are you someone that can't stand the sight of dust? Do you have messy kids (or roommates)? If any of these are true for you, it's a good idea to vacuum more often. Especially during allergy season, vacuuming frequently will help keep the air and your carpets clear of pollen and dust. Simplicity Vacuums have HEPA media filtration, which captures particles as small as .03 microns. That's very small!

At Simplicity Vacuums, we like to keep things extra clean. And in order to help you find the answer for your home, we've put together quick guide for how often you should vacuum the different spaces in your home.

Hard floors
As needed – at least once a week to pick up dust and small debris that avoids notice.

Carpets
At least twice a month but more if they are higher grain carpets.

Car
Once a month will keep your car looking tidy and ready for impromptu passengers

Stairs
Run your vacuum over the steps once a month to keep the carpet or wood clean.

Baseboards, fans, window sills
Add these extra spaces to your vacuuming around 4 times a year.
